Hatchet 3 is the Hatchet's horror film of 2013. It chronicles Victor Crowley's continuing adventures as well as his escapade across Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder portrays Victor Crowley while Brian Quinn plays Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanbilt plays Misty.



The main strengths of the film lie in the practical effects. Hatchet 3 uses a lot less CG effects than other horror films. This allows some truly terrifying moments to be captured in the movie.

Kane Hodder is a standout in the ensemble and is a formidable villain. The dialogue is hilarious and smart enough to make it feel like an 80s slasher film. Additionally, there are several hilarious moments throughout that offer some humor in the midst of the terrifying action.

Unfortunately, due to the limited budget (reportedly only $1 million) many of the locations are repeats from earlier films in the series--the identical boat house was used twice in the film and much of it feels like it's been recycled from other films in this series. The Hatchet and Hatchet 2 films may feel like the film is familiar.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was enjoyable although it was like the previous installments in the series. It provided lots of gory thrills as well movie Hatchet 3 as entertaining performances by the actors.
